Happy to report that everyone in the group made it to Florence today - even with some schedule rearrangements because of a pilot's strike at Air France. After settling in at the apartments a bit we took a short walk to see Florence's most dramatic sight - the Duomo (cathedral) with it's massive dome and bell tower. It is quite amazing to see this huge church right in the middle of all the touristy hustle and bustle. Then it was off to dinner at what always becomes a favorite neighborhood restaurant - Nerone's. To complete the day we stopped by to have a gelato (ice cream) at Tullio's. Everyone was ready for bed early after those "all nighters" on airplanes! Stay tuned for more later . .
