Just thought I would share my mini-vacation between my September group leaving and my October group arriving. I traveled by train to Milan where I joined a tour group for an excursion on the Bernina Express to St. Moriz, Switzerland. This 14-hour trip involved an early morning bus ride to the Italian town of Triano where we boarded the special small train for a two and a half hour ride into the alps via the Bernina Pass. It was a beautiful day and the scenery was spectacular! We were able to even hang out the windows to take photos and enjoy the brisk mountain coolness. St. Moritz was a bit too "ritzy" for my wallet! All designer stores for the rich and famous! I did indulge in a Swiss hot chocolate at a nice outdoor café to the tune of 7 euros ($8)! Our bus driver met us in St. Moritz and we had a four-hour drive back down to Milan - a delightful day. I stayed overnight in Milan and returned to Florence on Wednesday. Ready for another two weeks of adventures in Tuscany with my new group arriving on Thursday - come back to see us!
