Sunday morning found us at the train station and ready for a two-hour ride to the floating city of Venice. There is no place like it - Europe's only pedestrian city - no cars, no motorbikes, no trucks, no bicycles but lots and lots of tourists on foot! Our "cruise" down the Grand Canal on the vaporetto lasted about 40 minutes and then we arrived at St. Mark's Square. There's all kinds of water traffic on the canal as they go floating by. The gondolas are fun to watch as tourists (especially the Asians) go by taking photos of us as we are taking photos of them. There are over 2000 tiny streets and alleys in Venice and over 400 small bridges over the many canals. Shopping opportunities abound and there are cafes and restaurants aplenty! Venice is quite unique and we had a beautiful day exploring it. Come along on a photo tour . . .
